Fun Facts
I love to do crafts. For this reason, I started my own boutique on Etsy, titled VintageScriptCo. On my page, I sell handmade, wooden signs. Each sign is unique---customized according to buyers' preferences. In addition to being an engaging activity, VintageScriptCo has helped me develop my technical and business skills. Most importantly, all of the proceeds from my web-store have been donated to my friend's cancer fund.
About Me
I am a senior at UCSB -- graduating in March 2021 -- with a light course load. I have an aptitude for writing, grammar, and reading comprehension. However, I am willing to aid elementary and middle school students in other subject areas, as well.
My goal is to help aspiring students gain the confidence they need to succeed both in and beyond the classroom. I was not always a 4.0 student with minimal anxiety, and I can relate to students who struggle to perform well in the classroom -- despite having the utmost potential to do so. Hence, I aspire to help students develop their academic strengths as well as their organizational and time management skills.
I have tutored elementary and middle school students on-and-off for seven years. Further, I have three younger siblings -- one college level, one high school level, and one elementary level. Aside from offering my siblings homework help, I have helped them with college applications, building academic schedules, and devising daily study routines.
I am confident in my abilities as a student, and likewise, in my ability to help you / your student succeed.
Experience
Throughout high school, I individually tutored students of all levels: elementary, middle, and high school. I also volunteered at my local elementary school to help students with assignments and larger projects. My strengths are in reading and writing, but I am confident in other academic subjects as well. Further, I am willing to help students via web-chat, email, phone, and text!
Approach
As a child, I struggled in school and found it difficult to ask for help. However, in fifth grade, my teacher changed my perception of education, and more importantly, of myself. She was the first person to recognize and affirm my potential through academic and emotional support. As a result, I have become a confident and intellectual individual, both inside and outside of the classroom. Thus, I believe in using positive reinforcements to encourage my students' academic growth.

Most recently, I was enrolled in Writing 2. I also received a 35 on the English portion of the ACT and a 30 on the Reading portion.

I would love to help students develop beneficial, academic practices. In the past, I have helped students of all levels achieve success through positive reinforcements and coaching.
Nutrition Tutoring
During Winter 2019, I took ESS 3: Nutrition and Health. I am very knowledgeable about the study of dietary intake behavior as well as the nutrients and constituents in food, including their use in the body and influence human health. As a result, I am qualified to help high school students learn about the diverse components attributed to maintaining proper nutrition.

Science Tutoring
I have taken a variety of physical, life, and earth science courses. Some of these courses include: Honors Anatomy and Physiology, AP Environmental Science, Honors Chemistry, and Biology. Thus, I am qualified to help elementary-level students learn about broad scientific processes and concepts.
