Fun Facts

I am an avid cross country skier (although it is hard to find trails around Chicago!) and recently competed in the American Birkebeiner, a 55-kilometer ski race. Being from Minnesota, I also love ice hockey and played competitively in high school. In my free time, I try to explore the neighborhoods and diverse food scenes in Chicago.

About Me

I recently graduated from Northwestern University with a major in philosophy and completion of the premedical track. This past year, I have worked at a community health clinic in Chicago as a medical scribe. I scored above the 99th percentile on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and will be matriculating to the Pritzker School of Medicine at the chicago">University of Chicago this upcoming year.

Experience

I currently volunteer as a SMART program tutor with the non-profit, Chicago Tutors, providing weekly one-on-one support and instruction to elementary school students from underserved communities in the areas of social skills, math, and reading. Previously, I was a middle-school math tutor, with subjects ranging from basic math to precalculus, and a high school writing coach.

Approach

My primary goal is to help students achieve their full potential, but I also understand that all students are unique and not everyone learns and grows in the same way. Having studied both philosophy and the sciences I have a multitude of different perspectives and approaches to help my students understand the material in a way that best suits their learning style.
