Fun Facts
I'm into music (who isn't, I guess): classical music, popular music, folk music --- I play the piano (classical, popular) --- I write music for the piano (neo-classical)
About Me
see Fun Facts above
Experience
I'm a semi-retired college professor (math/physics), now for the past 16 years working part time (about 20 hours per week) as a Professional Tutor (math/physics --- college, high school)
Approach
In tutoring (math/physics), (a) I'm very patient, (b) I ask leading questions of the student, so as guide that student into discovering for himself/herself, as much as possible, that which is involved in understanding, and then solving, the problem at hand.

Calculus is one of my most favorite subjects to tutor. As a physics major at M.I.T., I took Calculus 1, 2, 3; Ordinary Differential Equations., Advanced Calculus for Scientists and Engineers (Functions of a Complex Variable, Fourier Series), Applied Mathematics (linear algebra, integral equations, difference equations), Abstract Algebra (linear algebra) with a B average for the above set of courses. As a Ph.D. physics students at Brown University, I took Applied Mathematics 1 & 2 (Functions of a Complex Variable, Matrix Algebra, Tensor Algebra), with a B average. As an M.A. (Masters degree) mathematics students at Boston University I took courses in Partial Differential Equations, Functions of a Complex Variable, Numerical Analysis, Applied Mathematics, Finite Element Mathematics, with a B+ average.
