Fun Facts
I am currently working as a part-time nurse while putting myself through Nursing school. I make my own schedule so I have lots of flexibility each week. I love shopping, watching TV, spending time with friends and family, traveling, photographer and being outdoors. I have been a tutor before as I taught elementary school for 3 years. I taught 2nd, 3rd and 5th grade. I love helping others learn.
About Me
I am a two-time graduate of TCU and originally from Kansas City. I have degrees in Business Communication, Elementary Education with a certificate in education/texas/fort-worth">Special Education. I love traveling and do it as often as I can.
Experience
I have been on the Dean's list every semester I have been in school. I was voted Cohort leader of my entire graduating class of TCU Education students. I have three years experience in teaching and many more in tutoring. I have volunteered with numerous non-profits in the Fort Worth area and love working to help others succeed. I am extremely driven and am currently pursuing a third degree in Nursing.
Approach
As a kid I struggled in school, but never lacked effort. Some subjects were just harder than others for me, so I understand that sometime homework is intimidating. My enthusiasm for life and my ability to make most anything a game, allows for a different approach to learning. If you can teach kids a subject and find a way to relate it to their lives or an interest they have, suddenly the subject becomes obtainable.

I didn't like to read as a kid, although I did do well in this subject. A lot of reading is finding ways to break it down into smaller pieces.

Disliked Science as a kid, but loved to do experiments. Now I love it, because it is all I do with Nursing.
Social Studies Tutoring
I am obsessed with this subject. This is easy to teach and can actually be a lot of fun. I used to dress up and teach about certain individuals to my classes. They loved it.
Study Skills Tutoring
Everyone needs to learn them for a life time. I have lots of tricks to teach.
Writing Tutoring
Writing=Freedom of expression. There is a lot to develop in those that might have a lot to say, but not sure how to express it. This is such a fun area to work with students on.
