About Me

I am a Sophomore Digital Design Major at washington/seattle">seattle-university">washington/seattle">Seattle University. I plan on minoring in Business Administration. My cumulative GPA is 3.534 and I have taken six classes through the University Honors Program. My Digital Design major GPA is 4.0. I plan on graduating in 2016 and my plan after college is to get a job at a design firm in order to gain experience so I can eventually become an Art Director! In the meantime I am having a great time building my portfolio!

I was a peer washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutor in middle school and high school in English and Writing. I also volunteered at Washington Middle School through the washington/seattle">seattle-university">washington/seattle">Seattle University Youth Initiative where I helped kids with homework in an after-school program. I tutored Math, English, Writing, and Science in the after-school program. I have a lot of experience with critiquing and brainstorming for papers as I was in AP English in high school and we did a lot of peer editing. I am very good at helping students consolidate their papers into clear, organized pieces with a clear point.

My washington/washington/seattle">seattle">tutoring approach is very simple; I let the students attempt the work and pay attention to where they are struggling as they conduct the work on their own. I then help them with the areas of difficulty and offer advice and methods to make that area make more sense and become easier for them. I always encourage students to reference the textbook or reading material often and make notes, highlight, and most importantly write down critical information no matter what subject the student is working on. The more students engage with the text, the more they remember and understand. I then encourage them to answer the problems or writing prompt based on what they were able to pull out of the text and help them formulate ideas and stay organized throughout the process.
