Fun Facts

During my freshman year of college, I signed up for my first sport: track. At the time, most of the recruits I trained with have been running track since middle school, but this gap in skill level merely animated my drive to excel. I love running and being a part of the track team as a walk-on athlete does not discourage me from doing my best in every practice session. I believe that the things in life worth doing are never easy and that embracing challenges is the key to success and fulfillment

About Me

My name is Rachel Morrow, and I am a biology major at MidAmerica Nazarene University. I have been homeschooled from K-12, and, because of my adventurous personality, I was motivated to study hard and go to college early. At age 16, I took the ACT and, because of my competitive score, I was able to attend a Christ-centered university through academic scholarships. I believe that whatever one puts his/her mind to achieve is possible.

Experience

As an extroverted student involved in the classroom and numerous on-campus activities, I became known among my friends as the unofficial tutor who could help solve any challenge in an assignment regardless of the difficulty level. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to help students achieve academic success to a level that they never imagined possible. I finally took my friends' advice and got a job at the MNU tutoring center and am excited to impact the lives of students outside of the MNU campus.

Approach

My fondest memories of college were the times I spent helping my friends with homework. Whether it be regarding in-depth tutoring sessions on difficult topics or conquering a huge math project the night before it was due, I have always loved diving into a challenging topic with someone. Seeing them reach the “aha moment” where everything would begin to make sense was one of the most rewarding things about college. The best aspect of tutoring is that it is a cooperative journey to success.
