Fun Facts

I have been told that I am a man of contradictions. At 8 years old, I became involved with boxing and eventually fought in the Golden Gloves State tournament representing Fort Worth, TX before become a professional in 1996. I was a professional boxer for almost 10 years before deciding to focus entirely on teaching. Today, I love to travel and hike and spend time with my family.

About Me

I grew up in Staten Island, NY before moving to Texas in 1988 when I was 12. In Texas, I graduated from South Grand Prairie and then went on to Sam Houston State University Huntsville, TX where I graduated with a B.A. in English and History. I have been a classroom teacher for the past 18 years. During that time, I have taught English II-IV, Creative Writing, SAT and ACT Prep, and College Prep.

Experience

As a Master English teacher, I have almost 20 years of experience and have been named Teacher of the Year twice for two different 5A schools in Texas. I am adept at teaching English, Writing, Reading, SAT/ACT Prep, and College Prep as well as some History.

Approach

My approach is to make learning interesting and fun. Like many before me, I have experience teaching that is dull, dry, and without passion. As a teacher, I swore never to forget that it was passion for learning that brought me here and I try to instill that same passion for learning into my students.
