I love to socialize and meet people, I believe everyone has a unique story that they can share with the world. I love fitness and working out, it is an amazing stress reliever for me. I love to travel, after college I plan to backpack through Southeast Asia.
About Me
I am a senior Biology major at the tampa">University of Tampa. I have made Dean's List the past 3 semesters and I am a lab mentor for Organic Chemistry I, General Biology I, and an Honor's research course. I have conducted research on microbial growth on waterpipe tobacco machines and carbon monoxide exposure in the ambient air of waterpipe tobacco lounges. I am the President of MEDLIFE UT, a volunteer organization and I am currently conducting clinical research at Tampa General Hospital.
Experience
Serving as a lab mentor for General Biology I, I ran review sessions for students to help them succeed in taking the lab midterm and lab final. In MEDLIFE UT, we hold study rooms to help students who may be struggling in their lower level biology courses and allow them to socialize with upperclassmen.
Approach
I use a lot of energy when I study and teach other students, I believe reputation and mnemonics are very important in helping students memorize the material. I always find it easier to understand material on a conceptual level rather than a typical notecard memorization style. Understanding the bigger picture in a lesson plan helps students master the material beyond the assignment given to them.

Biology
Biology I Tutoring
I have experience with Mitosis/Meiosis, Transcription, Translation, Glycolysis, the Krebs Cycle, photosynthesis, and basic protein structures. I have mentored General Biology I labs and ran review sessions for lab midterms and finals. I finished number 1 in my general biology class as a freshman and I have been reviewing the material preparing for the MCAT.
Microbiology Tutoring
I recently took microbiology and received an A in the class. I have experience with bacterial replication, virulence factors regarding Vibrio cholera, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, among others. I have conducted microbial research with waterpipe tobacco machines and I am currently in the process of publishing my results in a peer-reviewed journal.
Organic Chemistry I Tutoring
I finished organic chemistry I with an A- and aced the standardized ACS exam. Topics I work with include bond-line structure, chirality, alkanes, alkenes, halogenation, SN1, SN2, E1, and E2. I am serving as a lab mentor for organic chemistry in this upcoming fall.
Organic Chemistry II Tutoring
I received an A in Organic Chemistry II and on the standardized ACS exam. Topics I work with include, alcohols, ketones, carboxylic acids and their derivates, amides, amines, epoxides, aromatic structures and reactions, and IR. I plan to use the material for MCAT prep.
Biology Tutoring
I am a deans list Biology major at the University of Tampa. I serve as a lab mentor for General Biology I. I have taken General Biology I and II, General Genetics, Microbiology, and Immunology.
Biology AP Tutoring
I am a deans list Biology major at the University of Tampa. I serve as a lab mentor for General Biology I. I have taken General Biology I and II, General Genetics, Microbiology, and Immunology. I have experience working with monomers and polymers of macronutrients, transcription, and translation, mitosis and meiosis, the Krebs cycle, and the Calvin cycle.
Chemistry Tutoring
I have completed General Chemistry I and II with an A-, and B respectively and Organic Chemistry I and II with an A- and A respectively at the college level. Topics I am familiar with include basic stoichiometry, the elements of the periodic table, molarity calculations and orbitals. I plan to these skills preparing for the MCAT this upcoming winter.
Math Tutoring
I have taken College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I and II, and Biostatistics at the college level. I always had a passion for math and plan to use material I've learned to conduct statistical analysis on my future research projects at the University of Tampa
Elementary Math Tutoring
I have taken College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, Calculus I and II, and Biostatistics at the college level. I am very patient and love to use repetition and mnemonics to teach children how to learn math.

I have taken biostatistics at the University of Tampa and received an A. I have conducted statistical analysis using R on my research regarding carbon monoxide exposure in the ambient air of hookah lounges. I have used R to complete and create ANOVAS, T-Tests, Scatterplots, Histograms, Welch's One-Way ANOVAS, summary statistics, and linear regression.
