About Me
I am a recent graduate of Columbia University where I studied Linguistics and science/new-york/new-york">Computer Science.
Experience
Since starting college (2015), I have been both a private tutor for one on one as well as a regular speaking circle host for various language clubs and interest groups at during my time at Columbia. After graduating I have continued to do one on one tutoring with Python C++ and Italian and plan to host a weekly Italian speaking circle in the fall.
Approach
My objective for teaching languages is to help students develop their new language personas. What can we culturally relate to with the language's speakers? What does the Italian speaker version of ourselves look like? This makes learning personal.
From my experience studying jazz I have applied a similar pedagogy to languages: the skill of learning a language essentially that of improvising. My goal is to then cultivate in students the ability to express and respond on the spot.
