About Me

Kelly Raeburn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law & Society from the denver">University of Denver (DU) and a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education at the DU, Morgridge College of Education with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Change. Kelly co-faciltates the on-campus and online sections of the Writing Workshop for new graduate students at University College and serves as a teaching assitant for Graduate Research and Writing courses where she holds office hours to provide assitance to enrolled students. Kelly frequently works one on one with international students who require additional assistance in transitioning to reading, writing and speaking in English.

Kelly is a certified Basic and Advanced Physical Defense Instructor with Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) Systems and the lead instructor for SafeChicks, a Denver based non-profit organization teaching self defense to middle school and high school aged girls. She has shared her research related to threat assessment and behavior intervention on college and university campuses at national conferences, including the Campus and University Police and Investigators Conference (CUPIC) at George Mason University. Kelly also leads in-service training courses and work-shops related to campus safety. Kelly has been a member of the DU community since 2005 and is currently the Assistant to the Chair in the Department of Geography.
