Fun Facts
I started out as a history major in college and gradually rotated to science. I am currently enrolled in a PhD program at UC Davis. I love learning different languages, currently learning German and Japanese.
About Me
I am an immunology PhD student at UC Davis. I received my undergraduate degree in Microbiology and a masters in Biology at CSULA. During my time at CSULA I have accepted several awards. I was on the dean's list several times while conducting laboratory research. I accepted several scholarships and fellowship awards.
Experience
I was a private tutor for elementary grade children, I focused on math, science, reading and writing. At CSULA I was a tutor helping in college grade algebra, chemistry (general & organic), biology, physics, and microbiology. At CSULA I was also tasked with training incoming tutors and setting guidelines for behavior and responsibilities. With Frog tutoring I am able to hone my teaching skill and prepare myself for a future in science education.
Approach
As someone who was put in "standard" classes I never expected to reach the point that I'm at. However I realized that every individual has potential and their method of learning is different. I understand as a tutor that there is no one method solution when it comes to learning nor do students perform well in a stressful environment. I will be sure to use the method that works best for each student and guide them along their educational journey.
