Fun Facts

Fun fact: Do not challenge me to a Harry Potter trivia contest, because you will not win! I LOVE science fiction and fantasy almost as much as I love to travel! I've been to fourteen countries and forty states. The next countries on my list are Japan and New Zealand, and I hope to have visited all fifty states at least once while I'm still in my twenties!

About Me

Hi! I'm a 27-year-old woman living her dream life in the Pacific Northwest. I earned my BA in Creative Writing from Scripps College in 2014, and earned an MA in Higher and PostSecondary Education at Columbia University in 2018. In five years I hope to start my own college counseling practice.

Experience

I've been tutoring students in subjects ranging from Algebra 1 to AP Human Geography on and off since high school. Though my greatest love and strength are the humanities (particularly literature, history, and world religion), my organization skills have successfully navigated multiple students through staying on top of their work in their math and science classes as well.

Approach

As someone who was often impeded by anxiety and depression when I was in middle and high school, I focused my studies in this area while at Columbia. I try to make learning fun for students, and as someone with multiple years of experience teaching students with learning disabilities, I never give up. I know that every student is different, so my first two lessons are always based in figuring out what works best, and then building our lessons from there.
