Fun Facts

I do have a love for reading. I tend to read many different types of books, most of the time to contrast history reading. I don't get to read as much for fun as I used to due to History class assignments, but I fit it in whenever I can. Additionally, I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music.

About Me

I am currently a senior at Portland State University, majoring in History with a minor of Philosophy. I am currently in the History club at Portland State while at the same time a worker at Portland State Professional Sound. I have an aim to become a full time teacher at some point teaching history at the high school level.

Experience

During my Junior year High school I began to tutor some of my colleagues and students of lower grades (freshman and sophomores) on the subject of history, by the time of getting into college it was mainly history but more aid with writing. I enjoyed my experiences teaching fellow students who were struggling with the content. I want to help students whenever I can

Approach

The teachers that I have had over the years for History helped me to form the idea subject more personal to the individual learner. They showed me that one can show more interest for a topic or subject provided they find a certain aspect intriguing. I employ this method of thought in my tutoring because what most students need for success in a subject is something relatable that they find enjoyable.
