Fun Facts

While I have been teaching and tutoring math and science for over ten years, I am also a musician. My band recently finished a tour of England, Scotland and Wales. Highlists included performances on BBC Radio and playing an outdoor music festival in Oxford for 10,000 people!

About Me

I have a Bachelor's in Chemistry from Wesleyan University and a Masters from Columbia University. At Columbia University I taught classes and tutored students and was awarded the prestigious Millman Award for Excellence in Teaching.

I have done research in organic chemistry and worked in industry doing hardware and software design.

I have worked at some of NYC's most prestigious tutoring agencies and have my own tutoring business, working with students of all ages and ranges of abilities.

I have 20 years of recording and mixing experience 3 years of pro tools experience and 6 months logic pro.

Experience

I have tutored and taught students for over ten years, specializing in chemistry and math. All my students' grades and test scores have improved. As one parent said "Before Gil C. After Gil A! Thank you so much for helping my son when others were not able to help!!"

II have worked with students from all grades and abilities, from both public schools as well as NY's most elite private prep schools.

I worked for one of NY's top prep and tutoring agencies and have my own tutoring business.

Approach

Each student is different and has unique strengths and weaknesses. I work at each student's own pace, patiently, and with kindness and understanding that a topic can be difficult until it is explained clearly and with patience. Unlike the classroom, each of my student is in control and I make sure they understand a topic before moving on.

I also specialize in spotting testing errors in students, and working with them to fix these problems. My work with students will help them in all subjects
