Fun Facts
My main pursuit and passion in life is music: I produce and play music in multiple different projects, mainly as the bassist for the San Diego-based rock band Buddha Trixie and the drummer for the Sacramento-based artist Jon Wiilde. I am also a freelance songwriter and produce my own music. Catch me onstage at a venue near you or feel free to ask for lessons on guitar, bass, drums, and audio production. I would love to share what I have learned along the way!!
About Me
I am a working musician and have a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Davis, with a major in Technocultural Studies and a minor in Professional Writing. It is my goal in the long term to become a full-time touring and performing artist, but in the meantime, I will endeavor to pass on my expertise in essay writing, composition, test prep, and creative arts where I can. I have always imagined myself returning to a classroom setting, as I love interacting with similar minds.
Experience
When it comes to English and creative writing, my background combines extensive classroom experience a with professional acumen. I was published consistently writing music reviews for a local San Diego music blog for over 5 years, completed an internship through my writing minor, and achieved a 5 score on my first attempt of both AP Lit and APEL tests in high school, scoring over 2150 on my SATs along with achieving an overall college GPA of 3.56.
Approach
My approach in the lesson room will be an amalgamation of all I've learned from the greatest teachers and minds I've encountered in my life. My thought process and teaching philosophy is influenced by everyone I come in contact with, but mainly I would say my goal is to encourage a spirit of experimentation, curiosity and fun while still providing the student with a solid foundational bedrock on which their own ideas can flourish. It is my goal to help students realize their unique potential.
