Fun Facts
I’m the oldest of 3 girls & I feel lucky to come from a very close knit family. I've been married to my best friend since 2009. We have a daughter, Colbee, & a boxer, Mila, whom we love just as much as our human child. I love reading, coffee, teaching, sunshine, snacks, dancing, painting my nails, music, being barefoot & laughing. I don't like spiders, being cold, scary movies, onions, football (sad, but true), running, strong smells, emptying the dishwasher, being thirsty or uncomfortable shoes.
About Me
I was born & raised in a small town in CT. I moved to MN in 2009 where I lived with my husband, Kris, until we decided to escape the cold & move south to TN in 2012. I briefly attended Western Connecticut & Southern Connecticut State Universities right out of high school, but ultimately earned my bachelor's degree from Ashford University's online program in 2013. I went on to earn my masters degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville in 2014.
Experience
Since beginning my teaching career in January 2015, I've taught ELL/ESL between 4 schools grades K-12, third grade, first grade, and sixth grade math. Prior to obtaining my teaching license I have volunteered in classrooms, been a peer tutor, a paraprofessional, a teacher's aid and a substitute teacher.
Approach
I strongly believe that everyone can learn and be successful with strong work ethic. As a teacher I pride myself in getting to know all of my students not only to develop a relationship with them, but also to understand what their strengths are and where they struggle. I use this to help find new, creative ways to reach them at their level to help them realize their potential and flourish.
