Fun Facts
In addition to my physics degree, I also completed a minor in Film and Media Studies at Northwestern University. My interest in film has helped keep me well rounded, ensuring that I can think creatively and communicate effectively in addition to just being able to do physics problems. I am also a dedicated runner, and plan to run a half marathon soon for the first time.
Some of my other interests include cars, tennis, and trivia.
About Me
I recently graduated one quarter early from Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in physics. I have a 3.76 major and a 3.82 overall GPA. I am also the President of the undergraduate Physics club at NU. I am currently choosing which graduate school I would like to attend for my PhD studies. I hope to obtain my PhD and continue to perform physics research as a professor or in an industry position.
My chicago">tutoring experience comes mainly from working one on one with a student who was enrolled in an introductory level physics course at Northwestern. I worked with this student for several hours a day, two days a week during late February and into March. We worked on problems that she was having difficulty with, as well as more general concepts that she also did not understand. I also have experience teaching and supervising younger children (with an additional language barrier) from a service trip I participated in to the Dominican Republic when I was in high school. I would love the opportunity to help make a difference on a larger scale, and chicago">tutoring gives me the opportunity to do so.
Although I rarely sought individual help during high school, I found college more challenging. As such I often have gone to graduate students and professors for help with my more challenging assignments. These meetings have truly helped my academic development. I seek to emulate the style of the mentors who helped me the most. I find it most helpful to not simply be provided with answers, but to understand the problem as a whole. As such, I make sure students understand the basic concepts underlying the problem they are struggling with, and attempt to lead them to discovering the right method to solve the problem by asking questions.
