Fun Facts
I am the oldest of three and my entire family loves the water. We are all very strong swimmers and are happiest in the water. I was part of a recreational synchronized swim team for 6 years as a competitor and I have been a coach for the same team for almost 5 years. Synchro is a huge part of my life and takes up most of my and my family's summer vacation. It takes the rest of the year to recuperate from our summer break.
About Me
I currently attend American River Community College where I am working on an AA/Transfer Degree in Art History. I am also going to complete a certification program for Gallery Management. I plan to transfer to Sac State and earn a graduate degree in Art History. I love learning and school, and I love helping others learn how to love school. Working as a coach and a tutor means that I am dedicated to helping the students and athletes I work with grow in multiple areas.
Experience
Throughout high school I worked with students of various ages, from fourth grade to twelfth grade. I mainly tutored in math, history, and English, however I also tutored several students in all areas. As a member of Academic Decathlon, I tutored other members of the club who were also AP students in addition to younger students who were in a low GPA range. After high school, I tutored other college students in a variety of subjects, focusing on specific courses.
Approach
As a child, I was extremely lucky to have had several amazing teachers and coaches who positively impacted my approach to success. I work with each student to develop an individualized plan that suits their needs and works towards their goals. I work to get to know each student individually to build a healthy tutoring relationship. My responsibility is to support the student in their current areas, as well as teach them study skills that can be applied to other and future classes.
