Fun Facts

I have 86 pairs of socks! This allows me to use my laundry machine to wash all of them once every 3 months without mixing them with other clothes while saving tons of time. This is also my little secret of time-saving when studying at UC Berkeley without compromising my personal hygiene.

About Me

I currently work as a full-time scientist in the Biotech industry. I graduated from UC Berkeley with High-Honor. I majored in Chemical Biology and minored in BioEngineering. Before my education in the US, I was a medical student at China Medical University. Now I am premed and aim to become a trauma surgeon or a neurosurgeon after a few years of working in the industry. I enjoy hiking, cooking, problem-solving, mentoring younger students, and writing & drawing with my fountain pen collection.

Experience

I have over 10 years of successful experience in private tutoring. I am experienced following (up to college-level) subjects: Math (up to differential equations), Physics (from liberal arts oriented physics to calculus-based engineering physics, and up to modern physics), Chemistry (General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry), and Biology (general biology I and II). I have also tutored SAT/ACT prep, AP chemistry and AP biology for high school students, and MCAT and DAT prep for recent graduates.

Approach

My tutoring approach is a perfect combination of intellectual rigor, tailor-made motivation, and personal humor. Knowing that different students have various methods of learning, distinct types of intelligence, and their own way to be motivated, I can always adapt to my tutees' needs as fast as possible. I believe that studying, by nature, should be satisfying and fulfilling in the first place. “Eventually helping my tutees become independent learners” is my motto as an educator.
