Fun Facts

A part from my love of writing, I also love to paint! I’ve been painting ever since I was a child and probably ruined too many items of clothing in my artistic experiments. I’ve seen probably too many movies. One summer, my older sister and I decided to watch all the AFI 100 best movies of all time. (We almost watched them all!) Something most people realize about me pretty early on is my

About Me

As a senior in high school, I was No. 2 in my class, which allowed me to receive a wonderful grant to come to The washington-university">George washington-university">Washington University. As a junior, I was accepted this year to the selective English and Creative Writing major! Only a few students are picked each year! After I graduate, I hope to earn my MFA at New York University for film and dramatic writing.

As Editor of the Key Club and Service Leader of the National Honor Society, I’ve had the opportunity of washington-dc">tutoring elementary and middle school students four times a week after school. This included helping students with their math and writing skills and being a mentor and role model at the same time. This was a transformative experience for me and when I came to college in D.C., I was eager to get involved! Throughout the years I’ve helped many friends and classmates with everything from their essays to their study methods. Last year when I went on an Alternative Break to New Orleans, I got to help dozens of students hone their writing skills at a local middle school.

I’ll be honest I know what it’s like to struggle in school at a young age. When I was a child, I had a terrible speech impediment and low-self esteem. I was just too self-conscious to try hard enough in my classes and too embarrassed to ask for help. Now, I look back at those times and wish I had someone who supported me. Through FrogTutoring, I get to be the mentor I never had. There is nothing more challenging than overcoming your own self-doubt – but it can happen! As I grew older and bolder, I found teachers who believed in me. All you need is a relentless supporter, someone who understands all the struggles you face and helps you move past them together. Through organization and persistency, I help students recognize their true capabilities.
