About Me

My name is Jessica Tucker and I possess a Masters in Physics from Eastern Michigan University. My interests in the field of physics expanded my breadth of knowledge in mathematics, science, and education. During my tenure at EMU I was awarded several times for Outstanding detroit">Tutor in both the math and physics department. As a result of my experience I've become inspired to share my knowledge and zest for learning with others to empower them to learn.

My detroit">tutoring background includes physics and mathematics at the high school and collegiate level. I enjoy synthesizing and simplifying academic content to students to build their proficiency in both math and/or physics.

The pedagogical approach I encourage is to make sure the student understands the concept first before applying a method to solve a problem. Conceptual reinforcement builds confidence in a student's knowledge base and ability level. Every instance of problem solving is the opportunity for academic growth and building proficiency.
