Fun Facts
I enjoy reading in my freetime. I love reading and learning about history, specifically ancient history. These two interests are what lead me to want to be a teacher. I want to share my passion of reading and love of history with students.
I love black cats and have two. I also have a mini Australian shepherd who is always by my side when I'm home. We both love long walks in the summer and snuggling up on the couch watching our favorite shows.
I also love indoor plants and gardening.
About Me
I am a graduate from Ohio Dominican University with a Bachelors in Middle Childhood Education concentrating in Social Studies and Language Arts. I am also certified to teach 4-6 Math and Science. I graduated in December of 2019 and I am currently subbing in local school districts and waiting to land my dream teaching job. My goal is to be middle school teacher teaching social studies or language arts.
Experience
While in school I had the opportunity to tutor 4th and 5th graders in reading. I also spent several semesters with middle school students and worked along side the classroom teacher to teach math, science, social studies, and language arts. I student taught in a middle school teaching US American History. Before I graduated I also worked in afterschool childcare for elementary and middle school students. We offered homework help where I would frequently help with math homework.
Approach
As a teacher, I like to build strong relationships with my students and find what we have in common to connect. This allows me to personalize instruction to my students and help to motivate them to learn the material. As a tutor, I will use this same approach for my student because if students have a good relationship with their tutor they are more likely to learn.

Middle Childhood Education
Algebra Tutoring
In college I have taken intermediate algebra and precalculus. In High School I excelled at algebra and took Algebra I, II, and Integrated Algebra and Trigonometry. While working for after school care, I helped students with homework who were taking middle school algebra which was an advanced class for middle school students.
English Tutoring
I am licensed to teach Middle Childhood Language Arts which covers grades 4-9. I have completed extensive field experience in a language arts classroom for 30 hours. During this placement I not only taught English skills, but I also helped with proofreading student work. I also spent 6 weeks as a reading tutor for 4th and 5th grade students working with groups of students and individual students.
History Tutoring
I am a licensed middle childhood history teacher for grades 4-9. I completed 30 hours of field work in an 8th grade social studies classroom and I completed my student teaching in an 8th grade social studies classroom as well. I designed 6 weeks of lesson plans and taught each lesson, assigned homework, classroom assignments, projects, and tests. I graded and evaluated student progress and provided assistance for students during this time.
Math Tutoring
I am licensed to teach math grades 4-6. I have completed 30 hours of field experience in a 6th grade math class. In addition to teaching lessons, I helped students with class assignments as well as one on one help with struggling students.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I am licensed to teach math grades 4-6. I completed 30 hours of field experience in a 6th grade math class, teaching lessons and helping students one on one. While working in after school care I also worked with students in middle school on their homework in math. I held a math center every Wednesday where students could ask questions or correct their homework assignment.
Writing Tutoring
I am licensed to teach middle childhood language arts for grades 4-9. I completed 30 hours of field experience in a 7th grade classroom teaching writing skills and helping students enhance their writing as well as proofreading. I also have observed middle school English classrooms and worked with students on their writing. As a substitute teacher, I have subbed for many English classrooms and helped many students on their writing assignments.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I worked for an after school program that offered homework help for elementary and middle school students. We had a homework table that students were free to come to and receive homework help from me. I have helped students on all subjects taught in elementary. I am also licensed to teach upper elementary in all main subject areas.
Elementary Math Tutoring
I am licensed to teach math for upper elementary, grades 4 and 5. I have also taken elementary math in college, learning strategies to help students be proficient in math. I also worked in after school care and provided homework help for math for students in elementary.
Social Studies Tutoring
I am licensed to teach social studies for upper elementary grades 4 and 5. I have also completed a semester observing 4th and 5th grade social studies classrooms. I assisted the teacher and worked with students in groups as well as one on one with assignments.
