Fun Facts

People will learn that I have a passion for the international scene. I have traveled and lived on and off in the United Kingdom where I pursued graduate studies in health psychology, counseling, and education research. I've traveled to more countries than I have states, which is fascinating. I enjoy dancing and am surprisingly good at it. I really enjoy hip-hop and modern dance. I also love going to concerts and seeing live music. I've lost count of my adventures, so that's a good thing!

About Me

I am currently a graduate student at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas finishing up my Master of Arts in Counseling so that I may pursue my License in Professional Counseling in Texas and The United States. I hope to be a licensed counselor in the near future, but I also have dreams of being an academic researcher with an interest in pursuing a PhD here in Texas or abroad in the United Kingdom.

Experience

I've been in academia for most of the past decade working on numerous projects that included helping professionals with their articles, assisting faculty and students with proofreading their work and completing three dissertations on my own. I enjoy working with others in academia as the pursuit of knowledge has always been a passion of mine. Helping others is also a part of my core, especially since I enjoy watching others succeed. I hope to continue my work in academia and helping others.

Approach

I'm an active listener with high levels of empathy. I listen to people when they discuss their issues and work on helping them find the solutions that they need. I feel that I can bring this trait into tutoring by understanding the needs of others and working on making a plan to help them overcome their obstacles. I believe that teaching and helping the students comprehend the process of the learning material will help them develop critical thinking and study skills that will help them succeed.
