About Regents & Regents Tutoring

Regents exams, also known as Regents Examinations, are a series of standardized assessments administered to high school students in New York State designed to evaluate educational achievement and ensure readiness for college and the workforce. These exams cover various subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, and social studies.

Types of Regents exams vary according to the subjects they cover. The primary exams include the English Language Arts (ELA) Regents, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II (mathematics Regents), Global History and Geography, United States History and Government (social studies Regents), Living Environment (Biology), Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics.

These exams are associated with and serve to complement the New York State Education Department curricula. Successful completion of certain Regents exams is part of the requirements for earning a Regents Diploma, which is a credential recognized as a mark of academic accomplishment.
