Fun Facts
I have a twin sister studying music education. We both love music and we actually sing at weddings and other important events. Although I am not very good at it, I hope to become a very skilled piano player in the future. I have never taken any formal lessons so it is something I'm completely self-taught at. I also love to lift weights, cook, travel, and play sports!
About Me
I am an incoming junior at Purdue University studying acoustical engineering and minoring in mathematics. I have made the Dean's List every semester and that itself is not something you hear a lot from Purdue students. I had to work very hard for it and I can tell you that I know what it takes to be successful. I hope to become an acoustical consultant after I graduate!
Experience
I had the opportunity of helping people through my school and entirely by myself. I tutored a middle-school-aged girl in mathematics and a sophomore (through my high school) in geometry. I was very successful with both as I was able to raise their grades by at last 10%. Helping with math is not just a strength, but a true passion of mine!
Approach
Up until middle school, I never knew how good I really was at math. In seventh grade, my teacher recognized my potential and realized that I was much stronger at math than a lot of her other students. In high school, I skipped algebra two and went straight into precalculus. It inspired me to help reach out to students who didn't have as much of an advantage when taking a mathematics course, and it has made me become a very good explainer of all sorts of mathematical concepts.
