Fun Facts
My friends know that I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I love rereading the books, and watching the movies. I also love running. I've ran in 4 races, and I'm planning to run a full marathon this year.
About Me
I am currently studying Mathematics at the University of North Texas. I am the President of Talon Teach, the organization associated with Teach North Texas at UNT. I intend to become a high school teacher upon graduation.
I have been given the opportunity to have taught fourth grade, eighth grade, and P-AP Algebra II classes through Teach North Texas. I am also an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant with the university for a Survey of Mathematics course. Being a TA, I am required to work in the university's Math Lab, where I am able to tutor from remedial math classes up to Calculus I. I have also tutored high school students in Geometry and Pre-Calculus, and college students in Business Calculus, Elementary Statistics, and Pre-Calculus.
As a tutor, I help to motivate my students, and encourage them to achieve a good grade in their mathematics classes. I help to scaffold my students to the answers, rather than just give them the answers. I do this by asking open-ended questions to evaluate a student. Helping to motivate students is important because they may have all the tools, they just need the extra encouragement.
