Fun Facts
My students love completing their assignments and classwork with me, because I make learning fun. I use what I learned in college to observe and assess their learning styles and strengths. I adapt how I tutor them to meet their individual needs. I help them build self confidence in their own abilities. My students prefer me because I adapt my style of teaching to support them in their academic requirements.
About Me
BECKY MARQUARDT
CREATIVE, INSPIRED, LEARNING APPROACHES
I love working with students no matter what their capabilities are. I enjoyed working in the Cherry Creek School District in Colorado and want to continue working in a similar setting. I thrive when I work with youth in an academic, supportive environment. It is my desire to continue my career providing homework help or tutoring in a setting mutually agreed upon.
I have 5 plus years’ experience working with youth. I have been volunteering for more than 10 years in regular and special education classes from PreK-8th Grades. I worked to earn a BA in Psychology with another Major in Elementary Education with the idea in mind that I wanted to provide a more rounded approach to helping the students I serve.
I am successful at tutoring my students in Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. I can envision myself working in collaboration with various educational teams, supporting teachers and students in academic settings, inspiring youth with enriching curriculum that stimulates their desire to learn, and providing individual opportunities to develop skills to achieve success in the real world.
I find that wherever I have worked, I bring three key strengths to the table: I can develop positive relationships with youth and parents, I have the ability to use different learning and behavioral strategies like Bloom's Taxonomy, Multiple Intelligences, Positive Behavior Supports, Right Response Techniques, and Reinforcements to guide my students, and I am a team player.
I would love to speak with you regarding the tutoring position you have open. I enjoy working with students and teaching them new ways of learning.
Sincerely Yours,
Becky E Marquardt

Approach
I use Bloom's Taxonomy and Multiple Intelligences to adapt and modify my teaching and tutoring style to meet my students' needs. For example, I was teaching my students how to find the area of a rectangle. One of my students had a different learning style than the others. Her learning style was kinesthetic (using her hands). I demonstrated how to find the area of a rectangle by using cubes (manipulative) She used my example and was able to find the area of the rectangle.
