Fun Facts

I don’t mean to brag, but you will soon learn that I am one of the biggest fans of The Office! I love the show so much that I am currently rewatching the show in its entirety for the 7th time now (the goal is to hit 10 before Netflix decides to remove the show from its platform). Moreover, I enjoy reading a nice dystopian novel or classic while playing ABBA in the background. Aside from reading and The Office, I enjoy running but only in the evenings so I can beat the murderous Texas heat!

About Me

I am a senior at UT Dallas majoring in Biochemistry with a minor in Literature. When I graduate, I intend to pursue my Masters in Chemical Engineering then ultimately apply for medical school (yes, a lot of years of school but trust me, I don’t like school like that). I aspire to inspire others through my profession and diversify the fields of both STEM and Medicine. I’m very active on campus and have been involved in multiple organizations throughout my years in college thus far.

Experience

After volunteering as an ESL teacher for Literacy Achieves, I grew a deeper appreciation for teaching. I then began working as a freelance private tutor for both high school and college students and worked as an independent tutor for Varsity Tutors. I also hosted study sessions on campus where I would help assist my peers to prepare for exams by reviewing the course material with them. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to expand my scope of knowledge and diversify my skills.

Approach

I was fortunate to have great teachers growing up however I’ve learned that the classes I excelled in can be attributed to the teachers who utilized positive reinforcement, persistence, and made the material relevant to me. Therefore as a tutor, I have implemented these same strategies in my sessions which have yielded great results. I believe it is my responsibility to teach students the content in a way they can develop a general appreciation for it.
