Fun Facts
As a teenager, I raced motocross and began to pursue a career in the sport. However, due to multiple injuries and the importance of my scholastic endeavors, I chose to discontinue my pursuit of becoming a professional motocross racer. I still enjoy riding dirt bikes when my schedule permits and I have since picked up mountain biking as a substitute.
About Me
I attended Baylor University between 2007 and 2011 and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, with a minor in Biology and Chemistry and an overall 3.30 GPA. Additionally, I have completed 45 hours of post-baccalaureate coursework as a Mathematics major at UTD since May of 2013, with an overall GPA of 3.88. I am scheduled to begin a doctoral program in Statistical Science at Baylor University in the fall in preparation for a career as a biostatistician.
I have acquired experience dallas">tutoring both elementary-aged children and undergraduate students. I currently participate in an after-school program at the Heart House in Dallas, during which I dallas">tutor 3rd through 5th grade students in any subject in which they need help. Also, I served as a TA for a course in Molecular and Cellular Microbiology during the Spring 2014 semester. As a TA, I was responsible for hosting a weekly workshop during which I would provide additional explanations of the material covered during lecture and help students become more comfortable with the topics covered.
As as future graduate student, it has become apparent over the years that the key to success in Mathematics and Sciences is to go beyond memorizing formulas or facts and obtain a deeper understanding of the material so that the things you would otherwise memorize become intuitive. It is my goal as a dallas">tutor to help students go below the surface of memorization and develop this deeper understanding of the material and its purpose. It is this type of learning that will enable students to develop a more thorough and lasting understanding of the material, which they can apply as their schooling progresses.
