Fun Facts

My most surprising fact is that I am an improv comedian, and a trained classical pianist. Oftentimes if I am not at work, you will find me experimenting in the lab, putting on shows, or playing some Chopin late at night with the windows open. I dabbled in Mandarin Chinese, and absolutely love Jolly Ranchers and Nutella.
Despite my best efforts, I still can't dance to this day.

About Me

I am a senior Physics major at Drexel University. I've been a dean's list student, as well as the recipient of a couple scholarships for academic and research excellence. I am actively engaged in research. I specialize in the biophysics of sickle cell disease, and build spectrophotometers and photolysis devices to spontaneously sickle cells with a powerful laser. I also have had my work published with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and hope to get my PhD in Physics in the future.

Experience

Nothing excites me more than research and education. I have been a independent contractor for tutoring websites for around a year, and formerly designed courses for disadvantaged yet gifted high schoolers in Philadelphia. I have 3 and a half years of formal research experience designing my own projects, and am working on finishing a former grad student's thesis in sickle cell photolysis. I have also taken substantial biology and organic chemistry courses to supplement my biophysics research.

Approach

In high school I struggled in math and science. I got lost in notation, and hardly understood the concepts or applicability of the material in question. I often stress notational cleanliness, conceptual understanding, and rigid process based problem solving in all of my tutoring with students. I tell them STEM learning is like an instrument. Through practice and discipline, anybody can learn it with enough effort and encouragement!

Business Calculus Tutoring

Business Calculus is one of my favorite subjects to teach. I have extensive experience tutoring it, and often run my tutoring like a second proto-lecture, where we will work problems together and further your understanding. I boil calculus down to it's simplest conceptual level, and deliver techniques and step by step processes to problem solve through this course.

Calculus I Tutoring

Given that I am a Physics senior, and have mathematical qualifications through Partial Differential Equations, I am fluent in Calculus 1. I even have written my own condensed study book by hand which I teach from to all of my Calculus students. I stress conceptual understanding, clear and concise notation, and proper problem solving methods. Calculus is the portal which all STEM students must go through, and I love being a part of that journey.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

Given that I am a Physics senior, and have mathematical qualifications through Partial Differential Equations, I am fluent in Calculus 2. I even have written my own condensed study book by hand which I teach from to all of my Calculus students. I stress conceptual understanding, clear and concise notation, and proper problem solving methods. Although harder than Calculus 1, I seek to elucidate the concepts and make this the easiest math course you will ever take.

Chemistry I Tutoring

I have chemistry experience up through Organic Chemistry, and am a practicing experimental biophysicist who specializes in thermodynamics. Chemistry is always in my tool box, and I use it every day. I will teach you problem solving methods and conceptual intuition to make your Chemistry class a breeze with proper study and stick-to-it-tiveness

English Tutoring

I have extensive experience in writing for collegiate English. I specialize in scientific writing, and have publications at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as extensive training as a contracted actor with a theater company in Philadelphia.

Physics I Tutoring

An understanding of Newtonian physics is essential for anybody wishing to pursue a STEM education, and I seek to help clarify the subject. I am on Cum Laude track as a Physics major at Drexel University, and graduate in the spring with a concentration in Biophysics. I'll develop your mathematical literacy, stress the intuition of the concepts, and delineate problem solving methods for which you can use to tackle Physics 1.

Physics II Tutoring

I have extensive experience with Physics II, as I am a graduating senior as of June 2022 with a Bachelors in Physics. E&M is often very confusing, and I seek to clarify and elucidate the subject with my students by stressing the mathematics of the natural situations. The concepts bleed naturally from the simple yet elegant mathematics of Electromagnetism, and I will make it my mission to personally show you it.
