Fun Facts
I'm a member of Alpha Chi Omega serving as the Vice President of Intellectual Development. Basically, my role is to help our members succeed academically & I have absolutely loved it! I'm a coffee connoisseur and when I'm not in school I enjoy trying new coffee shops around Dallas. Also, I'm a HUGE planner, so I love making plans and I update my planner as much as I can.
About Me
I am a junior Accounting major at Southern Methodist University. I've made the Dean's every year that I've been here. I have a passion for education, I love math & I love helping others succeed! After I graduate, I hope to attend SMU for my Master's in Accounting and then pass the CPA exam.
Experience
I currently serve as the VP of Intellectual Development for my sorority. In this role, I assist members in creating weekly study plans and help them stay on track to meet their academic goals. Last year, I was a member of Mustangs for Hope. This was a club of volunteer tutors and we tutored elementary schoolers weekly via Zoom. Additionally, I've tutored students from my hometown. I absolutely love working with kids and tutoring gives me an opportunity to use my education minor in practice.
Approach
I strongly believe in differentiated instruction. As a kid, I'm so lucky I received an equitable education. All my teachers worked one-on-one with me when I needed support and I appreciated hands-on activities to solidify my understanding. I believe that all students deserve this equitable education and I understand students have different learning styles that work for them. I want to help make learning accessible and present material in the way that works best for the student.
