Fun Facts
Having grown up in Wisconsin, I am a die hard Packers fan. You can take the girl out of Wisconsin, but you can’t take the Wisconsin out of the girl!
About Me
I worked as an engineer for a Fortune 500 chemical company for over twenty years. I decided to retire early to spend more time with my children. Now that my children have “grown and flown", I look forward to helping other children achieve their academic potential!
Experience
When I retired, I spent time substitute teaching at my children’s school and was the preferred math and science substitute. When we moved to a different state, I decided to shift paths and began virtual tutoring ESL (English as a Second Language), English, and Math. I have over ten years of experience tutoring/teaching in different capacities, from Kindergarten through adults.
Approach
Each student is different. They all have strengths and weaknesses. I first examine what the student is currently learning in their classroom, and then assess where the student is having trouble. I will often work through example problems, explaining the steps I use to solve the problems. I then have the students work through problems with me, helping the student where needed. Finally, I will have students attempt problems on their own. Praise and encouragement are given often
