About Me

I am an educator from the outskirts of Memphis, TN. Although my formal education/training is actually in pharmacy, education is my true passion. I adore young people of all ages and watching kids learn and thrive is an incomparable experience.

Experience

My career as an educator started in childcare initially. I worked with young children six weeks to five years old for around six years. I’m a Guest Educator with Enriched School currently, and through that role I had the opportunity to work one on one with kindergartens as well as one on one with a student with special needs. My role with Enriched opened the door for me to become an Academic Interventionist at KIPP Memphis Elementary. I spend my day teaching a Functional Skills class and be

Approach

I believe with my my heart that children are just small adults. In order to teach them and reach them, we have to get on their level. I put my myself in their shoes, I think back to what experiences were like at their age. Every student is “smart”; every student is capable. It takes a special adult to see them as an individual, to hear them, and to build confidence in them to have the courage to reach their full potential. We may the the only adult who does that for them. They deserve it.
