Fun Facts
I love to play tennis, rock climbing, and play violin during my free time. I traveled across the United States last summer. I love plants and am a big nerd when it comes to fish, aquascapes, and computers. My favorite book is "The name of the Wind" -by Patrick Rothfuss. I have a small mini Australian Shepherd named Dundee (Mr. Man) and plan on getting a fish in the near future.
About Me
I am a recent graduate student from NMSU and just finished up my Master's in Computational Chemistry. I was working on a project that looks into the effects cholesterol has on the membrane in hopes of understanding how an increase and decrease in cholesterol affects Alzheimer's patients.
I was interested in this field because I was always a curious child and wanted to learn more about material science (rocks and minerals) and found this degree matched the in-depth research goals I was looking for.
Experience
As a member of the American Chemical Society club and the Biophysical Society, I have had experience presenting my work and becoming comfortable with my presentation skills. I believe that having interpersonal skills has aided me in getting more opportunities to come my way and hope to share what I learned by becoming enthusiastic about giving presentations and listening to others.
Approach
As a child, I always dreamed of becoming an engineer and found that I was lost when it came time to decide on my major in college. This is something that plagues many of us today and I'd like to share my organizational skills with others to navigate their thoughts, strengths, and passions.
