Fun Facts
I love movement, especially the less-common forms - dance, yoga, aerial arts, rock climbing, etc. I also love to make art, particularly painting and stained glass.
About Me
I recently graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology. I have almost 10 years of tutoring and teaching experience. One thing that I like to think sets me apart is my desire to make learning fun, which involves meeting each student where they are and trying different approaches to reach a good understanding of the subject.
Experience
I have tutored privately and for various organizations for almost 10 years, in undergrad. I was a supplemental instructor for Intro to Psychology. I also tutored for a local tutoring company in Baton Rouge, LA, as well as privately for friends and community members of all ages. During grad school, I have continued to tutor as a volunteer for a local program in Nashville, TN. I have also served as a teaching assistant for various courses in the Psychology department at Vanderbilt for several years
Approach
Throughout life, especially into my college years, it became increasingly apparent to me my unique approach and knack for learning concepts in a wide range of subjects. I think my unique mindset when it comes to comprehension and problem-solving allows me to offer multiple perspectives when it comes to tailoring a learning approach for a student.
