Fun Facts
I am passionate about photography and take b&w film photography during my free time. I also enjoy baking and taking classes at Walnut Hill College.
About Me
I am a rising sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania studying economics and mathematics with a minor in statistics. My favorite topic is analysis and my favorite theorem is the triangle inequality!
Experience
I have been tutoring and mentoring since high school, some of my experiences are as follows:
- hired by the University of Pennsylvania as a peer tutor for the introductory economics course
- volunteer as a teaching assistant for students at Robeson High School in Geometry and Algebra 1 courses
- volunteer as a virtual 1-on-1 tutor via the West Philadelphia tutoring project
- A teaching assistant at MathCorps Philadelphia, where I was awarded TA of the year ~50 fellows
Approach
I believe that the foundation of tutoring is the relationship between the tutor and the tutee. Some methods of tutoring will work for some people, and other methods will not. It is important to establish good communication so that I can use effective teaching methods. No one wants to spend 1-2 hours with someone that they don't like studying things that they struggle with. I try to make learning as fun and engaging as it should be.
