Fun Facts
I love nature and science. My favorite way to spend relaxing time is hiking. I collect rocks and study the plants around my area. I am a big fan of green chemistry and hope to be more involved in that community soon.
About Me
I majored in Biology at Texas Tech University. Since I graduated, I have worked in a laboratory setting and as a teacher. Both were great experiences. I currently work in a veterinary office at the moment. I am in the process of healing an injury and wish to continue with my work in science once I am all healed.
Experience
I tutored in my last years of college, mainly chemistry and biology. During that time I was taking an all hands-on physics course and my professor taught me that your ability to research and use critical thinking skills to teach any subject is much better than specializing on one topic. The ability to know how to teach an individual according to their specific learning needs is what makes me a fantastic tutor/teacher.
Approach
I always had a very different way of learning, this made school very difficult for me. I did not enjoy learning/education until I was in college. My professor had me understand the deeper meaning behind our education and accepting that taking my own path with my education would get me further. There are many techniques that work for a variety of students. I hope to pass that on to other students and help them find their way of learning to help school easier for them in the future.
