Fun Facts

I love Chess, Magic: The Gathering, and basketball (go 76ers!) I also play the piano and have two cats named Sammi and Stella. Some of my favourite creative outlets are screenwriting and music composition.

About Me

I am a Junior at Emory University in Atlanta, majoring in Mathematics and Philosophy. In addition to my many free time activities like board games, film, and music, I love debate and rhetoric and spend lots of time reading philosophy. Some of my favorite authors are Nietzsche, Aristotle, and Jean-Paul Sartre and my favorite subjects are Ethics and Logic.

Experience

I have many years of experience with private tutoring for HS students and enjoy 1-on-1 instruction with students. I also have classroom experience from organizing math competitions for middle schoolers and robotics "seminars" for elementary schoolers through the Math club and TSA chapter respectively at my high school. I was also a US Presidential Scholar finalist and an AP Scholar with Distinction for excellence in the ACT and AP exams respectively.

Approach

As someone who studies both math and philosophy, I am familiar with finding connections between different concepts that don't have any obvious similarities. I have found that exploring these connections, while disorienting at first, allows me to better understand the fundamental idea at play by seeing it from many different perspectives.

For this reason, I explain new ideas or concepts in several different ways so that my students have the choice of how they learn.
