Fun Facts
I’m a huge Dallas Mavericks fan, even though they are currently in shambles, unfortunately. I have a 3-year-old boy cat who’s my best friend. He’s cuddly, dramatic, and runs the house. I love early morning walks, especially when the sunrise is just right- it’s my favorite way to reset. I’m a naturally curious person and try to learn at least one new thing every single day!
About Me
I’m Deemah, and I’m passionate about helping others grow—whether academically, personally, or professionally. I have a degree and background in public health from Southern Methodist University. I was previously on the pre-medical track and completed one year of medical school before deciding to shift my path and pursue becoming a Physician Assistant. That experience, along with my clinical work and volunteer service, helped shape my commitment to helping others in meaningful, hands-on ways.
Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve developed strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a deep sense of empathy- qualities I bring into every space I work in. I value patience, adaptability, and building strong relationships, and I’m someone who takes pride in showing up for others with both compassion and consistency. Whether in healthcare, tutoring, or community outreach, I’m passionate about making a difference in people’s lives by meeting them where they are and helping them grow with confidence.
Experience
I have several years of tutoring experience across a wide range of subjects and age groups, including elementary, middle, and high school students. I’ve tutored both domestically and internationally, with a focus on English, math, and science.
Most recently, I served as a tutor at Wedgewood Middle School and Grand Preparatory Middle School, where I worked with 6th to 8th-grade students from low-income backgrounds who had previously failed the state-mandated STAAR exam.
Approach
My tutoring style is patient, supportive, and tailored to each student’s unique learning needs. I take the time to understand how a student learns best-whether that’s through visuals, hands-on examples, step-by-step breakdowns, or just having a calm space to ask questions freely. I always aim to make tutoring feel less intimidating and more like a conversation where we work through challenges together.
