Fun Facts

One of the things I have enjoyed the most in life has been traveling, I love visiting new countries and exploring their culture! I am bilingual, but something I aspire to do in the near future is to learn a third language, I am especially interested in french. One of my hobbies and what I usually do during my free times is watching films, especially foreign films. A second interest is fashion, I am always reading fashion blogs and magazines.

About Me

I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, but I recently transferred and I am currently a senior the University of Texas at San Antonio where I am pursuing a second bachelor's degree in Biology. I hope to then obtain a PhD in Neuroscience, I want to do research in a field in which I can apply my background education in both Psychology and Biology. My ultimate career goal is to do research in the pharmaceutical field.

I started tutoring at the University of Texas-Pan American where I obtained my first degree. I worked with students enrolled in Psychology courses and I immediately found it to be extremely rewarding! I then mentored sophomore-level students so they could successfully reach their academic goals and continue on to their junior year in college. Tutoring and mentoring others is something I enjoy doing and I am now continuing the journey at Frog Tutoring.

Something I have learned in my past tutoring experience is that every student is different, and you need to first understand that particular student's learning style. There needs to be a sense of trust and very strong communication in the tutor-student relationship. Being able to not only listen to the student's needs but to also pick up on what the student is not telling you is very important in a tutoring session; it makes the difference in whether the student absorbs the information you give.
