About Me
I was an honor student throughout middle school, high school, and college. I began studying Spanish during my freshman year in high school. I complete Advanced Placement Spanish in my senior year in high school and I scored high enough to earn college credit. I continued studying Spanish for four years at the memphis">University of Memphis. I have a passion for the language and culture. I enjoy learning the various dances and experiencing their rich cuisine.
I began memphis">tutoring Geometry after school during my freshman year in high school. I was selected by a teacher to be a peer memphis">tutor. During high school, I tutored Geometry, Algebra, English and Spanish. During college, I tutored English and Spanish. I served as a Fresh mentor for two years during which I advised freshman students on essential components of the memphis">University of Memphis. Post-graduation, I worked with an in- home memphis">tutoring program contracted with Memphis City Schools. I tutored 8th and 9th grade students on a weekly basis in their homes throughout the Spring school semester. I am currently working for a non- profit organization geared towards helping troubled youth.
As a memphis">tutor, I use available resources and study guides to direct study sessions. I also use real world examples as a learning resource so that the student begins to apply what they learn to their personal lives. I begin by assessing the student's current knowledge and struggles of the subject to determine a starting point. In my opinion, it is important to work at the student's pace.
