Fun Facts

My family has recently moved to Fort Worth from south Florida. Having grown up on the ocean I feel like a fish out of water here in Texas. With that being said, the beach is my favorite place on Earth! I'm from New York, so I'm still in search of a decent slice of pizza! I am a mom to beautiful boy/girl twins- they are so awesome. About Me

I grew up on Long Island and attended college at SUNY ESF (State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry) in Syracuse NY next to syracuse-university">Syracuse University. My major was environmental and forest biology and my concentration was in genetics and molecular biology. From there I moved to Tampa and attended the University of South Florida and received a graduate certificate from the College of Medicine in medical biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology. When I grew up I wanted to be a research scientist, but as I got further to that goal I realized that my talents & abilities would be better served in the classroom with students. I taught high school science (biology, integrated science, physical science) and tutored in various math & sciences.

I have tutored college, high school, and middle school biology. Tutoring was after school and on weekends, which was typically three to four times per week. I've also worked with student athletes during the winter equestrian festival in earth science, math & biology. This experience was four days per week. Those students were in circumstances where they were away from their school for the entire winter season. Correspondence with teachers was essential because the students needed to return to school fully prepared and on track with the rest of the class. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to work with these students. They had to work twice as hard because they were out of the classroom for so long, and we knew we were making a huge difference.

I know not everyone loves science and math (shocking I know!!) and some students down right hate it! Whatever your feeling may be, you are looking for a tutor for help. My students will work hard and we can also have a good time while learning math and science. I know what a difference it can make when you connect with a teacher or mentor. Suddenly the subject matter isn't too unbearable. I had a great organic chemistry tutor in college. I h
