Fun Facts
My friends like to call me the "cat lady". I have two adorable cats, named Jasmine and Smokey Joe, that I adopted about 6 years ago. Jasmine often thinks she is a dog, because she loves to play fetch!
About Me
I am currently working as a full-time project coordinator at the Dallas VA Medical Center. I am in charge of numerous cardiology studies, most of them focusing on chronic total occlusions (these are 100% blocked coronary arteries for more than 3 months time). I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, with a bachelor's degree in Neurobiology. I moved to Fort Worth about two years ago to start my master's in clinical research management.
Experience
I was previously employed with Austin Learning Center about two years ago, where I had the opportunity to work with students K-12 in subjects such as Algebra 1/2, Geometry, Chemistry and Biology. I usually met with my students on a weekly basis, and reviewed homework assignments or reviewed for upcoming tests. I helped assist with study skills and study planning and really enjoyed my students.
Approach
As a tutor, I aim to provide my students with a more complete understanding of the subjects they are struggling in. Ultimately, I want to provide them with confidence in their technique so they can learn to work through problems more independently. By working with students on an individual basis, I am able to personalize their teachings so they can master any subject. I am passionate about helping my students succeed and love to hear success stories.

I have taken all the way up to Calculus for college credit courses and I have successfully passed my math courses. In the past, I have tutored students in Algebra 1/2, Geometry and Basic Math. I have also taken the GRE, and scored in the 64% range.

Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
I have recently completed an Anatomy and Physiology course at UNTHSC, where I also had the advantage of working with cadavers. This helped me to better understand the course and will give me an advantage when tutoring others. Between the two courses I finished with a 3.5 average GPA.

I majored in Neurobiology and have taken a number of Biology course including Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Genetics, Neurobiology of Disease, Psychology, Biology 2: Organisms and structures. I continued my Biology education when I enrolled in UNTHSC and have completed courses such as Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology. In the past I have tutored students in Biology as well as chemistry.
