Fun Facts

I can eat a whole pizza; it is my favorite food. It does not matter if we go out to a really nice restaurant that is famous for a certain dish or it has something a lot of people recommend, if they have pizza then I am having pizza. I played the cello for 8 years, and although I did not continue my music education I did get a scholarship to buy me a cello so I still play from time to time. That's another thing I really like: music. My music tastes can take you through the decades and centuries.

About Me

I am a Junior at Texas Christian University and am perusing a dual degree in Chemistry and Mathematics. I am the first in my entire family to go to college (on a full ride too), and I am one of the oldest so hopefully that sets a trend for my cousins and my 3 younger brothers. After TCU, I plan on continuing my education and hope to obtain a PhD in chemistry. My biggest dream, however, is to become a chemistry professor at a research university.

Experience

Before TCU, I had 4 sales jobs from working at a flea market to working for Bose. While at TCU, I have been a tutor, honors general chemistry teaching assistant, an elementary after school science program leader, and I am currently doing theoretical organic chemistry research. All of these jobs/positions have allowed me to interact with a wide breath of people from 3rd graders to 40 year olds trying to get a bachelor to college athletes.

Approach

I now know how to study and what works for me, but what works for me does not work for everyone because everyone learns differently. However, in my journey of trying to figure out how to study I have learned many methods and strategies on how to study so I have plenty to suggest. My most successful method of teaching is where the student actively participates in the teaching, where THEY teach ME what they know. Once I know what the student knows, I know what I need to fill in.

Calculus I Tutoring

I took this class as an Advanced Placement class in high school and I got the highest possible score: 5. This earned me college credit while in high school. I also had one of my best teachers ever teach me the subject and I sometimes imitate his teaching style.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

I took Calculus while at TCU and was taught by professors from Harvard and the University of Chicago. These professors really challenged me, so now I know the subject very well and am comfortable teaching it to other students.

Calculus 3 Tutoring

I took Calculus while at TCU and was taught by professors from Harvard and the University of Chicago. These professors really challenged me, so now I know the subject very well and am comfortable teaching it to other students.

Chemistry I Tutoring

I took General Chemistry with one of the hardest chemistry professors at TCU: Dr Bob. He is notorious for having the hardest freshman chemistry tests, and I did very well on those tests. I have tutored this subject many times and am very comfortable.

Chemistry II Tutoring

I took General Chemistry with one of the hardest chemistry professors at TCU: Dr Bob. He is notorious for having the hardest freshman chemistry tests, and I did very well on those tests. I have tutored this subject many times and am very comfortable.

Organic Chemistry I Tutoring

I took Organic Chemistry at TCU, which is no easy feat. At TCU they teach what most colleges teach in two semesters in one semester.

Organic Chemistry II Tutoring

I took Organic Chemistry at TCU, which is no easy feat. At TCU they teach what most colleges teach in two semesters in one semester. The second semester at TCU is, according to a graduate student, things they teach in graduate school.
