Fun Facts

I was born and raised in Arizona and recently moved to Texas to become a horned frog this past year. In my free time I love to watch Friends, play soccer, or draw. I spent a year abroad in South Korea and it has become one of my favorite memories. I also love dogs and want to have at least 5 when I am older!

About Me

I am a graduate student at Texas Christian University, aiming to get a PhD in organic chemistry. I recently graduated from Northern Arizona University, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Advanced Chemistry and a minor in Asian Studies. I hope to become a professor at an international school in the future.

Experience

During my undergraduate career I was a TA for general and organic chemistry as well as doing undergraduate research. Currently I am a laboratory TA for organic chemistry while taking graduate courses and research. I have tutored and lead study groups in various chemistry subjects. From all this, I have been able to develop myself as a tutor and learn different ways to approach and teach the material.

Approach

I personally know that chemistry can seem like a daunting subject, however it is actually a lot of fun and is very applicable to everyday life! I have learned that its important to understand basic concepts first so we have a foundation that we can then build upwards. I bring a positive, encouraging, and persistent atmosphere to our tutoring sessions and can ensure they will become successful scientists.
