Fun Facts
I love poetry, art, puzzles, physics, and writing. I regularly volunteer at Catholic Charities and TX Reentry to make a difference in people's lives. After graduation, I plan to work in research or engineering, while volunteering on the side. I also enjoy watching cartoons and anime, and casual games with a really good storyline.
About Me
About Me
I attended a small liberal arts school, Reed College, in Portland, OR, where the culture is all about "loving to learn". Then I went to TCU's physics program to earn a doctorate degree, where the program was rated 4th in the nation of "graduate student satisfaction". (Or, what I would call "happiness".) On my own time, I play casual games, solve mini-puzzles and hang-out with friends.
Experience
I first started tutoring when I was in high school, helping students with math homework. Then I continued on to do a lot of teaching after school since then. As an undergrad, I led a middle school girls' science club; where I made lesson plans and designed fun activities. At TCU I taught as a lab teaching assistant for 5 years and mentored undergrads in the summer.
Approach
My teaching philosophy is very much "learn by doing". I strongly believe that you can't remember what you learn without applying it in some way. When it comes to tutoring, I often let the tutee tell me how they prefer to be tutored, and then I work to provide the best individualized support for him or her.
