Fun Facts

Today, I would describe myself as an experienced teacher who is highly qualified to teach at competitive scales. I have completed two Master’s degree in Education: Educational Leadership and Instructional Leadership. These titles and job experiences have actually favored me in implementing new and effective instructional methods which have enriched the life of thousands of bilingual students.

About Me

My name is Cordero-Perez, Roberto; I was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on April 20th, 1977. After graduating from High School I began my studies of education in the University of Puerto Rico. After a year, I left school to dedicate myself to business. I administered a bakery for six years, and after this returned to school. I graduated as a teacher in 2004 at the Interamerican University of Puerto. My first Master’s degree in Educational Leadership was completed in Argosy University.

Experience

My first professional experience was teaching English at a private elementary school. After two years, I decided to explore educating older students, I taught Spanish at Ramey Jobs Corp. A year later, I moved to a bigger city to teach English to students in a private institute. In June 1st, 2006, I moved to Dallas, Texas, and started teaching bilingual students in Dallas Independent School District. Now, I teach part-time at a private university and tutor independently.

Approach

During my first three years teaching, I adopted many philosophical perspectives, fusing these is what made my personal educational philosophy the most effective. I've assisted in designing many instructional curriculums. Now, the goal is to focus in understanding the importance of a well-designed curriculum. Mostly understanding the alignment these have with the state’s educational system.
