Fun Facts

I absolutely love to cook. I will cook and try anything once. I was always told the quickest way to someone's heart is through their stomach. Lets just say I took that quote and ran to the kitchen with it....
Also,I have my own personal library. I am addicted to books and buying them. Every time I go shopping I have to grab a book. Probably why I refrain from shopping now.

About Me

I am a Nonclinical coordinator on the OR Staff of Wills Eye Hospital located in Central Philadelphia. In addition to my work at Wills Eye Hospital, I have completed my Masters in Public Health while also studying for the MCAT and subsequently preparing myself for Medical School applications. I currently live outside of Philadelphia, PA in a smaller town called Lansdowne. I am originally from South Carolina and I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a focus in Community Health. While at Voorhees I considered myself the "do it all" student. I promise you could have found me doing everything from leading a Science club meeting to speaking at a Student Government rally to teaching freshmen the proper techniques in the weight room. In addition, I could(and still can) always be found reading something and fortunately, that's paid off in school. I've been on the Deans List/Honor Roll every year since the 1st grade. My ultimate goal is to obtain my M.D. or D.O and become a Public Health Physician with a focus in community health based Preventive Medicine.

I have been philadelphia">tutoring for about 9 years. I also led small group sessions during my first two years of High school but officially since 2007. I have experience philadelphia">tutoring in a variety of subjects whether it's the Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, English, Mathematics or Computer Sciences.

I try to create a humorous lighthearted approach to philadelphia">tutoring. Many subjects especially the advanced Maths and Sciences can be overwhelming and complicated if they are taught in the traditional lecture-based style. So, I make games or riddles out of lessons. This way you're able to learn a new subject and still have fun.

Experience

I began philadelphia">tutoring younger members of my church when I was 16. My positive work and results with the few youth began to catch on with other members and I ended up teaching group sessions. This also led me to being recruited as a philadelphia">tutor for individuals in the county's Adult Education program. I did this until I graduated high school(2009) and during 2nd semester of college I was hired as a Peer philadelphia">tutor for the school. I did this through graduation(2013) and now I philadelphia">tutor privately in Philadelphia.

Approach

My approach with philadelphia">tutoring consists of many practice/drill type material. If we are doing test prep then I will create mini versions of tests that we can use as practice. If we are doing multiplication factors then I'm going to be constantly drilling my students at random and consistent intervals of multiplication factors.
