Fun Facts
I like to think of myself as well-rounded and as such I enjoy being involved in a variety of activities on campus. I play flute in the TCU Marching Band, I am a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority, and I am currently captain of TCU's Club Frisbee team. I am the youngest of 3 (all girls!) and enjoy learning about new cultures and traveling with my family. I love to sing and dance (especially two-stepping!) and read whenever I get some free time.
About Me
I am a Junior at TCU from Arlington, TX. My major is in Spanish with a minor in Biology as I am on the Pre-Med track. I hope to attend medical school after I receive my undergraduate degree and one day be a surgeon.
During my college career I have gotten the opportunity to informally tutor several of my peers in subjects they have had difficulty in. Through this experience and mentoring freshman in both band and frisbee I have learned valuable guidance skills. Now with FrogTutoring I hope to have the opportunity to tutor and mentor students in a more structured, professional atmosphere.
When tutoring a student I think it is very important to always be positive and encouraging. Asking for help is sometimes difficult so it is important to never be negative or belittle a student for their faults in a subject. I have needed help in subjects such as Physics and Organic Chemistry before and I know from experience that I learn better when the tutor is patient and thorough when teaching a subject. It is important to analyze a topic from many different aspects through practice so that the student is completely prepared. I hope to give my students the confidence to succeed in subjects they find difficulty in not only by thoroughly teaching the material, but also by encouraging efficient study and test taking skills.
