Fun Facts
I like to sing and play guitar! I have a lot of fun ideas so I'm always working on projects, both big and small! I did track and field from middle school competitively through college. I have been to China twice!
About Me
I grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland. I attended Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland. I went on to get my B.S. in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University with a minor in Chinese and I and now a structural engineer in Baltimore, Maryland with my engineer in training certificate.
Experience
Being an engineering student could be very collaborative, because many courses required in the Civil Engineering curriculum were from vastly different disciplines. Environmental, geotechnical, hydraulics, transportation, structural, to name a few. We were always learning from each other. Every course was different and so it gave me a feel for how different learning and teaching techniques work better for different concepts. I am also now an ACE mentor in the Towson area!
Approach
Every student has their own optimal way of learning that is unique to them and so with that I believe that there is no concept that someone cannot learn. After explaining a concept, by paying close attention to the questions the student is asking, comments they're making, patterns in mistakes, and so on, you can get a grasp of what exactly the student is and isn't understanding and alter the teaching style accordingly to accommodate their most optimal way of learning. That is what I plan to do.

I work heavily with AutoCAD every day as a structural engineer who's clients expect design packages.
Calculus I Tutoring
I received an A in this course.
Calculus 2 Tutoring
I took AP AB Calculus in High School and went on to take 3 calculus courses in college. I performed better in Calc I and III, but I have now had more time to let the concepts of this course soak in since I use it surprisingly often in my day to day job. I believe I can be helpful here especially after a proper tutor session preparation.
Calculus 3 Tutoring
I received a B in this course, but I felt I could have performed better. The concepts are interesting to me and I would enjoy helping other people to understand them.
Chinese Tutoring
I was in the Chinese immersion program at Potomac ES from age five. While I don't use it as often as I would like to anymore, I don't have much issue communicating because I have retained a lot and can recall a lot since I learned very young.
College Algebra Tutoring
I took honors algebra II in high school and I really love it. It is a challenge, but it feels great once you understand a new concept. I don't think my college actually offered college level algebra, but it may be similar to the class I took in high school. I believe after proper preparation for a tutoring session, I can be very helpful.
ESL Tutoring
English is my first language. I believe I can teach it as a second language, especially with someone who speaks mandarin natively/fluently, but that is not necessary because I am a patient person.
Math Tutoring
Math is my favorite subject. I don't think I have heard of the generic college-level "Math" course, but I believe after proper preparation for a tutoring session, I can be very helpful.
Math Advance Tutoring
Math is my favorite subject. I don't think I have heard of the generic college-level "Math Advance" course, but I believe after proper preparation for a tutoring session, I can be very helpful.
Physics I Tutoring
I received a B in this course. I believe I could have performed better, the concepts came rather easy to me and most topics of this course are a basis of what I do now every day.
Physics II Tutoring
I took honors physics in High School and went on to take it in college. I have now had more time to let the concepts of physics II soak in and I use its concept a lot in my day to day job. I believe I can be helpful here especially after a proper tutor session preparation.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I took AP AB calculus in high school and took three calculus courses in college. There are concepts from the course that I often apply to what I do at work now. I don't think my college offered "Pre Calculus", but I think I can be very help after a proper tutoring session preparation.
Trigonometry Tutoring
I really like trigonometry. SOHCAHTOA! I use it's proofs all the time, often when I'm drafting certain objects/shapes in AutoCAD. I enjoy this course and I believe I can help someone else enjoy it, too.
Algebra Tutoring
I took algebra in high school and I really love it. I use it in the real world all the time and not only just with my job. It's interesting to me and I think my energy can help with getting other people to want to learn.
Algebra II Tutoring
I took honors algebra II in high school and I really love it. It is a challenge, but it feels great once you understand a new concept. It's interesting to me and I think my energy can help with getting other people to want to learn.
AP Chemistry Tutoring
I took honors chemistry my freshman year of college, then aided for the same class the next year. I took AP chemistry my junior year of college, then host tutored for the same class my senior year. I took one final Chemistry course in college and I would say I have a good background of the subject and can teach it effectively to any student.
AP Physics Tutoring
I took honors physics in High School and went on to take it in college. The college level course had similar topics, though in more depth. It was likely on par with high school level AP physics. I believe I can be a good tutor for this class.
Calculus Tutoring
I took AP AB calculus in high school and took three calculus courses in college. There are concepts from the course that I often apply to what I do at work now. I think I have a class understanding and real-working-world understanding for the course and believe I can be helpful.

Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took algebra in high school and I really love it. The concepts come easy to me and so it gives me room to make sure I am utilizing the best teaching techniques to explain a concept to someone else.
SAT Math Tutoring
I got a 650 score on my SAT Math section, same score on the SATII. I think I can help someone do even better.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I can teach someone how to do difficult homework assignments by using resources when necessary yet still making sure they are learning material and not just completing a homework assignment.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I am a certified structural engineer in training who cares a lot about young people being interested in math/science. I am confident I can tutor middle school level math in a productive way that is also fun and interesting.
Study Skills Tutoring
Just like there are different techniques to teach different people most efficiently, there are different techniques to help them retain and recall information for quizzes and tests. Much more than just memorization as most tests and quizzes are an indicator of whether you are truly grasping the concept.
Elementary Math Tutoring

Adobe Flash Tutoring
Animating with Adobe Flash has been a hobby of mine since middle school. I still animate it as requested (someone may want a specific video or commercial)

I use excel to manage all aspects of my life. I use it so often that I have advanced myself to tables and codes to get it to do almost anything I want. I would say I have an advanced level of proficiency with excel.
Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring
Before Adobe Flash Animation, I used PowerPoint to create my computer animations. I learned a lot of not as well known features of the program by doing this, on top of the more common function/purpose for the program. I believe this can help
